One of my most treasured possessions is my grandfather's DD-214 from WWII. It has his accomplishments, deployments, and signature. It is marked with smudges and has a crease where he folded it over to carry with him. I like to write a sentence or two per week regarding the job. I want my kids to someday know what I was thinking, what my goals were, who I shared life with and the memories I made when I was away from them.
